Drive Chains
1994 models feature a new rocker pin design chain. This chain was designed to improve fuel economy. The new design is comprised of two convex joints that roll against one another as the chain rotates.
On October 3rd, 1994, (Julian 276) all high torque 4T60-E's were upgraded to an elastically tuned drive chain with the exception of the Buick Riviera. This change was implemented to decrease chain noise. The latest design can be used on any year and model, with the exception of the 5BFW and 5CAW. To update 91-93 models, the drive and driven sprocket must also be changed.
