LONG CRANK TIME
MODELS AFFECTED:
1993 ELDORADOS, SEVILLES, AND ALLANTES
Some 1993 Eldorados, Sevilles, and Allantes may experience a condition of long crank times. This condition may not occur each time the engine is started.
This condition may be caused by sender check valve leak down within the modular fuel sender. Verification should be made with a fuel pressure leak down check. Vehicles built before the following breakpoints may be affected:
Eldorado - 600877
Seville - 801738
Allante - 126531
To repair this condition replace the modular fuel sender:
Eldorado/Seville - P/N
25028545 Allante - P/N 25028422
To assure proper sender orientation, align the arrow on the sender top cover with the most clockwise molded alignment mark on the fuel tank when viewed from the top of the tank. Refer to Figure 1.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
