CONDITION:

Some owners of 1993 Eldorados and Sevilles
equipped with analog or digital cluster may
experience a fuel gauge inaccuracy.

CAUSE:

This condition may be caused by the fuel gage
calibration PROM (software) which overstates the
fuel amount remaining in the tank.

CORRECTION:

To correct this condition use the following procedure:

1. Enter diagnostics, record (ID99) the IPO PROM I.D. If the cluster PROM I.D. (1D99) is 184, remove cluster from the I/P per Section 8C of the Service Information Manual and order PROM part number 16192433 from GMSPO. The PROM I.D. of 16192433 is 2435.

If the cluster PROM I.D. (1D99) is 2435, refer to "Fuel Gauge Inoperable/Improper" in Section 8C1 of the 1993 Eldorado/Seville Service Information Manual.

2. Install new cluster PROM.

3. Reinstall the cluster per Section 80 of the Service Information Manual.
