Interior - Rattle In Left Rear Corner Of Car

Bulletin No.: T-93-92
File in Group: 3
Number: 19
Corp.Ref.No.: 313401
Date: May, 1993

SUBJECT:
RATTLE IN LEFT REAR CORNER OF CAR

MODELS AFFECTED:
1993 ELDORADOS, ETC, SEVILLES, AND STS

Some owners of 1993 Eldorado, ETC, Seville, or STS vehicles may comment of a rattle noise in the left rear corner of the car over bumps. This noise may sound like a noisy shock absorber or an exhaust system contacting the underbody. The noise may actually be caused by the fuel tank filler neck contacting the rear suspension support. Refer to Figure 1, View A.

To repair this condition loosen the clamps that attach the fill pipe and vent pipe to their respective hoses. Refer to Figure 1, View B. Move the hoses so that there is a 10 mm (3/8") gap between the end of the hose and the hose stop on the pipe, then tighten the clamps. This will force the fill pipe and vent pipe rearward in the vehicle to provide additional clearance to the rear suspension support assembly.
