DESCRIPTION
The HYDRAMATIC 4T60-E transmission is electronically controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inputs to the PCM determine the shift pattern and Viscious Converter Clutch (VCC) operation.

TRANSAXLE SOLENOIDS
Four solenoids in the transaxle respond to the PCM signals. Two solenoids, SHIFT A and SHIFT B, control shifts. The VCC APPLY and VCC Pulse Width Modulation (VCC MOD or PWM MOD) solenoids control the apply and release of the VCC.

TROUBLE CODES
There are no trouble codes for the shift solenoids. PCM code PO39 indicates a VCC fault.
