Central Control Module (CCM)
Diagnostic Chart:
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is enabled anytime IGN 1 is turned "ON." RAP will continue operation of power windows, sunroof, trunk release, radio, and wipers. RAP will stay enabled for up to 10 minutes after an ignition cycle from "ON" to "OFF" or will shut "OFF" immediately if any door is opened.
TEST CONDITIONS
CCM is not enabling the RAP relays. IGN 1 is "OFF" and a CCM wake-up signal (door handle input, Remote Keyless Entry/Universal Theft Deterrent (RKE/UTD) input, door input, courtesy lamp switch input, or IGN 3) becomes active or if a door is opened within 10 minutes after IGN 1 was turned "OFF."
FAILURE CONDITIONS
CKT 707 (RAP relay output) is in a low state for more than 2 seconds while the CCM is not enabling the RAP relay circuit.
ACTION TAKEN
DTC 21 stored.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This test checks for a short to ground in CKT 707.
2. This test checks for normal resistance of the relay coils.
3. This test checks for a shorted relay.
4. This test checks for B+ to relay coils.
5. This test checks for an open on CKT 707.
6. This test checks for poor or damaged connection at the CCM connector, and for normal CCM RAP function.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If the DTC is a history code, the problem may be intermittent. Try performing the test shown while "wiggling" wiring and connectors; this can often cause the fault to appear. Check for poor connections at both the CCM and the RAP relay connectors; these could cause an open or an intermittent fault. Refer to "Intermittents/History Codes/Poor Connections". Intermittents/History DTCs
If CKT 707 is shorted to ground, the wipers and radio will have B+ at all times. If CKT 707 is open, the RAP function will be "OFF" as soon as the ignition is shut "OFF."
A Tech 1 can be used to activate the RAP relays.
