Central Control Module (CCM)

Diagnostic Chart:

Wiring Diagram:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The Delayed Interior Lighting (DIL) relay will be enabled once the CCM receives a wake-up signal. CKT 1393 is then pulled to ground at the CCM. Once the relay is turned "ON," voltage will appear on CKT 823 to the various courtesy lamps and systems using CKT 823. The relay will stay "ON" for 10 minutes after the ignition is shut "OFF." If the CCM "Wakes-Up" again, the DIL timer will reset to 10 minutes. This is a separate function from the "Retained Accessory Power (RAP)" system.

TEST CONDITIONS

CCM is not activating the DIL relay. This occurs at power up, after wake-up, or up to 5 seconds after the DIL timer has expired.

FAILURE CONDITIONS

This fault will only be detected when the CCM is not attempting to activate CKT 1393.

ACTION TAKEN

DTC 23 will set in the CCM.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

1. This test checks for an open or short to ground in CKT 740.

2. This test checks for an internal open in the relay.

3. This test checks for an internal short in the relay.

4. This test checks for a short to ground in CKT 1393.

5. This test checks for a open in CKT 1393.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS

If the DTC is a history code, the problem may be intermittent. Try performing the test shown while "wiggling" wiring and connectors; this can often cause the fault to appear. Check for poor connections at both the CCM and the delayed interior light relay connector; these could cause an open or an intermittent fault. Refer to "Intermittents/History Codes/Poor Connections". A short to ground in CKT 1393 will keep the DIL relay contacts closed at all times, supplying constant power to the roof rail courtesy, visor, vanity and garage door opener. Intermittents/History DTCs

A Tech 1 can be used to activate the DIL relay.
