Central Control Module (CCM)
Diagnostic Chart:
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The fuel enable circuit is completed by the CCM whenever the PASS-Key(R)II portion in the CCM enables it. This circuit signals the ECM that it is OK to turn "ON" the fuel injectors because the system has seen a valid key match.
FAILURE CONDITIONS
This DTC will set after a valid key match, IGN 1 is "ON," and CKT 229 stays "low" (2.5 volts or less) most of the time.
ACTION TAKEN
DTC 33 will set. This DTC will clear after IGN 1 is turned "OFF."
TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This test checks for 5 volts at the CCM, supplied by the ECM on CKT 229.
2. This test checks for a short to ground or open in CKT 229.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If the DTC is a history code, the problem may be intermittent. Try performing the test shown while "wiggling" wiring and connectors; this can often cause the fault to appear. Check for poor connections at both the CCM and the ECM connector; these could cause an open or an intermittent fault. Refer to "Intermittents/History Codes/Poor Connections". Intermittents/History DTCs
A Tech 1 can be used to monitor the fuel enable circuit.
