Accessory Delay Module: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATIONThe Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System provides power to operate several vehicle accessories after the Engine has been running and the Ignition Switch has been turned to "OFF" or "LOCK," but before any door is opened.
Voltage is applied at all times to the coils of the RAP Power Relay and RAP Wiper Relay. When the Ignition is turned to "RUN," the Central Control Module (CCM) grounds the Relay coils. The RAP Relays are energized and contacts close. Voltage is now applied through the RAP Relays to the accessories from Maxifuse 2. When the Ignition is turned to "OFF" or "LOCK," the CCM will keep the Relays energized for ten minutes unless a door is opened. If a door is opened, the Mini Wedge Switch contacts will close to ground. The CCM will now de-energize the RAP Relay coils, thus the RAP System will be turned "OFF."
