Power Locks: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATIONBattery voltage from I/P Fuse #45 PWR Lock Fuse is applied at all times to the Power Door Lock Relay through CKT 1540. Battery voltage from I/P Fuse #35 PWR Lock Fuse is applied at all times to the Door Lock Switches through CKT 1040. The Power Door Lock Relay is permanently grounded at G200.
When any Door Lock Switch is pushed to the "LOCK" position, battery voltage is applied to the Power Door Lock Relay through CKT 195. This energizes the relay, which then applies battery voltage from I/P Fuse #45 PWR Lock Fuse to the Door Lock Motors through CKT 295. Ground is provided to the Door Lock Motors through CKT 294 and the Power Door Lock Relay. The Door Lock Motors will lock the doors.
When any Door Lock Switch is pushed to the "UNLOCK" position, battery voltage is applied to the Power Door Lock Relay through CKT 194. This energizes the relay, which then applies battery voltage from I/P Fuse #45 PWR Lock Fuse to the Door Lock Motors through CKT 294. Ground is provided to the Door Lock Motors through CKT 295 and the Power Door Lock Relay. The Door Lock Motors will rotate in the opposite direction and unlock the doors.
