Throttle Valve Cable (Less V4U Coach Builder Option)
The TV cable setting synchronizes the TV cable assembly and the throttle body. If unset shifting problems and premature transmission wear may result. This procedure sets the accelerator cable from the throttle body and TV cable from adjuster to automatic transmission. The TV cable requires no periodic adjustment.1. Stop engine, then remove cover, shield and inner cover.
2. Put accelerator control cable from adjuster to throttle body in nonadjusted position, by pressing button and slide out to fully stretched position, then releasing button.
3. Put TV cable from adjuster to automatic transmission in nonadjusted position by flipping toggle switch up.
4. Insert 1/8 inch drill bit, grooved side up, through cams. If bit goes down further, it will hit gear and bind adjuster assembly.
5. Set torque wrench to 35 inch lbs. Insert torque wrench with 1/4 inch drive extension through round hole in top of first pulley and into square hole in second pulley. Tighten relaxer cams to 35 inch lbs. Once relaxer cams are tightened, maintain torque with wrench until after toggle switch on TV cable is flipped down to lock setting.
6. Remove torque wrench with extension and drill bit, then install inner cover, shield and cover.
7. Install TECH 1 with mass storage cartridge to vehicle.
8. Fully depress accelerator pedal while monitoring throttle angle on TECH 1. Throttle angle must be 90 percent or above. If throttle angle is below 90 percent repeat cable setting as outlined.
