Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

The Park/Neutral (PNP) circuit indicates to the Engine Control Module (ECM) when the transmission is in park or neutral. This information is used for the Transmission Torque Converter Clutch (TCC), and Idle Air Control (IAC) operation.

DO NOT drive the vehicle with the Park/Neutral switch disconnected, since idle quality may be affected.
