Vehicle Damage Warnings

NOTE: Observe the following service precautions when replacing spark plugs:

^ Allow engine to cool before removing spark plug assemblies. Attempting to remove spark plug assemblies from a hot engine may cause plug to seize, causing damage to cylinder head threads.

^ Clean spark plug recess area before removing spark plug assembly. Failure to do so can result in engine damage due to dirt or foreign material entering cylinder head, or in contamination of cylinder head threads. Contaminated threads may prevent proper seating of new spark plug assembly.

^ Use only spark plug assemblies specified for use in the vehicle. Refer to Application and ID for spark plug type. Do not install spark plug assemblies that are either "hotter" or "colder" than those specified for the vehicle. Installing spark plug assemblies of another type can severely damage the engine.
