TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
(Perform before beginning System Diagnosis)

- A short to B+ on CKT 1294 will not drive actuator pintle out to cause a decrease in assist. The fault is detected by the CCM which disables CKT 1295. The Tech 1 will read "DTC 27".

- Resistance of Steering Wheel Rotation Sensor from terminal "A" to terminal "C" should be between 8k and 11.5k. If not1 replace sensor. If a Steering Wheel Rotation Sensor is defective or circuits going to it have opens, short to B+ or short to grounds, DTC 44 or 45 will set in the CCM.

- Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check.

- Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.

- Refer to System Diagnosis.
