Flash-to-Pass - Uses Low Beams Instead Of High Beams

Subject:
Flash-to-Pass uses Low Beams Instead of High Beams (Rewire Connector)
Models:
1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham
1994-96 Cadillac Fleetwood
CONDITION
Some owners may comment that the flash-to-pass feature uses the low beams rather than the high beams. For 1993 to 1995, flash-to-pass was not available on Canadian vehicles with Daytime Running Lights (DRL).
CAUSE
The terminals in the connector to the headlight dimmer switch were reversed. This was corrected for 1996 production about September 26, 1995.
CORRECTION
Locate the connector to the headlamp dimmer switch on the left side of the steering column. Unplug the connector, then remove terminals A and C and reinstall in the opposite cavities. Plug the connector back in, then check to make sure the high beams come on with flash-to-pass.
IMPORTANT
If a Daytime Running Light (DRL) kit is added to the vehicle, make sure to perform this procedure to insure proper operation of the DRL system. See Bulletin # 53-82-09.
