Diagnostic Flow Diagram (2 Of 3):
Trouble codes stored in the PCM/ECM's memory may be cleared (erased) by entering the diagnostic mode and then depressing the "OFF" and "HI" buttons on the CCP simultaneously. Hold until "E.0.0" appears. Trouble codes stored in the BCM's memory may be cleared by depressing the "OFF" and "LO" buttons simultaneously until "F.0.0" appears. After "E.0.0" or "F.0.0" is displayed ".7.0" will appear. With .7.0 displayed turn the ignition "OFF" for at least 10 seconds before reentering the diagnostic mode.
NOTES:
^ If PCM/ECM codes are cleared at any time, code snapshot information will be lost.
^ Many PCM codes have complex test and failure conditions. Therefor, simply clearing codes, exiting diagnostics, and watching to see is the code sets again may not indicate whether a problem has been corrected. Test conditions vary greatly by individual codes. If the code does not reappear after meeting the test conditions, chances are good that the problem is fixed.
