Parts, Service and Warranty Information

PARTS INFORMATION

The parts required to complete this campaign should be obtained from the Parts Distribution Centers of General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). A description is provided below:

If there is difficulty obtaining these parts using normal ordering procedures, dealers may place a "CIO" order using advise code "2" with no special instruction code. If necessary, these parts may also be ordered on a "VIP" order and Cadillac will reimburse dealer for any surcharge involved.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

2. Remove the high mount stop lamp cover by gently lifting from the rear package shelf

3. Unscrew the two lamps from the high mount stop lamp lens assembly and reposition.

4. Gently lift the rear package shelf covering at the opening to access the RKE/UTD module. It is located approximately one inch forward of the opening. Remove the RKE/UTD module by pulling upward on the unit. It is held in place by two press in clips under the package shelf.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the RKE/UTD module.

Notice:
Proceed to Step 9 if the electrical signal feed between the RKE/UTD module and the horn relay has not been disconnected. Continue to Step 6 if this disconnection is visible.

6. Remove the blue TPA from the connector.

7. Remove electrical tape from the terminal and reinstall the black wire into cavity C-5 of the connector.


8. Reinstall TPA into the back of the connector.


9. Plug electrical connector into new RKE/UTD module.


10. Replace RKE/UTD module into the attaching holes under the package shelf. Align the attachments of the RKE/UTD module with the holes under the package shelf and snap into place.


11. Replace both high mount stop lamps into the lens assembly and replace the high mount stop cover.

12. Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery.

13. Install Campaign Completion Label.

CAMPAIGN COMPLETION LABEL

Upon completion of this campaign, a Campaign Completion Label (CAT. NO. S-1015) should be affixed on a clean, dry surface of the radiator core support in an area clearly visible when the hood is raised. Each label provides space to print in ink (or type) campaign number 93-C-2A and your five-digit Cadillac dealer code. Dealers are to take the steps necessary to ensure that these numbers are recorded and the label is properly affixed.
