R014
Diagnostic Chart:
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The DERM monitors the voltage at the 'DRIVER'S SOURCE SENSE', terminal 'AS', 'PASSENGER'S SOURCE SENSE', terminal A6', 'DRIVER'S SENSE HIGH', terminal 'B9', and the 'PASSENGER'S SENSE LOW', terminal 'B7', during the 'Continuous Monitoring' tests. When all voltages are simultaneously below 3 volts for 500 milliseconds Code R014 sets.
TEST CONDITION(S)
Tested every 100 milliseconds while 'Continuous Monitoring', tests active.
FAILURE CONDITION(S)
Voltage at the 'DRIVER'S SOURCE SENSE', terminal AS', 'PASSENGER'S SOURCE SENSE', terminal A6', 'DRIVER'S SENSE HIGH', terminal '139', 'PASSENGER'S SENSE HIGH', terminal A7', 'DRIVER'S SENSE LOW', terminal '138', and
'PASSENGER'S SENSE LOW', terminal 'B7', is less than 3 volts for 500 milliseconds.
ACTION TAKEN
1. DERM turns on the 'INFLATABLE RESTRAINT' indicator.
2. 'SERVICE SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT' message is displayed on DIC.
NOTES ON FAULT TREE
1. This test checks for a situation which prevents a proper connection of the Dual Pole Arming sensor to the wiring harness. It is highly unlikely that an intermittent condition has set this code as this would require a poor connection at terminals A, 'B', and 'C' or at terminals 'D', 'E', 'F', and 'G'.
2. This is a double check because code R014 should not set without the Dual Pole Arming sensor disconnected.
