CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the ignition switch is first turned 'ON', battery voltage is applied to the 'INFLATABLE RESTRAINT' indicator and to the Ignition 1 terminals 'A9' and 'A10'. The DERM responds by flashing the 'INFLATABLE RESTRAINT' indicator seven times alternating between the primary and redundant lamp drivers. Codes R061 and/or R062 set when the DERM detects a primary and/or redundant lamp driver failure during the DERM's 'Continuous Monitoring' tests. When the output state of the lamp driver does not match the commanded state, Codes R061 and/or R062 will set for the entire ignition cycle.
TEST CONDITION(S)
1. Tested every 100 milliseconds while 'Continuous Monitoring' tests active.
2. Ignition 1 voltage is greater than 9 volts.
FAILURE CONDITION(S) FOR R061
1. The output state at the 'SIR Indicator Low' terminal 'Bi' does not match the command state of the primary lamp driver for 400 milliseconds.
FAILURE CONDITION(S) FOR R062
1. The output state at the 'SIR Indicator Low' terminal 'Bi' does not match the command state of the redundant lamp driver for 400 milliseconds.
ACTION TAKEN
1. DERM attempts to turns on the 'INFLATABLE RESTRAINT' indicator.
2. 'SERVICE SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT' message is displayed on DIC.
NOTES ON FAULT TREE
1. Checks for a short to ground in the 'SIR Indicator' circuit.
2. Checks for a short to voltage on the 'SIR Indicator' circuit.
3. Checks for an open indicator bulb or an open in the 'SIR Indicator' circuit.
4. Checks for an open in the 'Redundant Indicator Ignition 1' circuit.
5. Checks for an open in the 'Redundant Indicator Ground' circuit.
6. Checks for proper terminal contact at the DERM connector. Refer to "INTERMITTENT'S AND POOR CONNECTIONS" to properly check terminals. Intermittent Problems
