Circuit Description

The purpose of this diagnostic test is to detect a problem with the Heated Windshield circuit to the PCM. When the circuit is grounded by the Heated Windshield module, the PCM will increase idle speed to compensate for the electrical load placed on the generator. When the PCM detects the heated windshield request present for 10 minutes, Code P092 is set.

Test Condition(s)

Engine running.

Failure Condition(s)

Heated Windshield request present at the PCM for more than 10 minutes.

Action Taken

PCM turns 'ON' the 'SERVICE VEHICLE SOON' message.
