Circuit Description

This diagnostic test checks for a traction control system PWM link failure to the PCM.

Test Condition(s)

1. Code P137 not set.
2. Traction control not failed.

Failure Condition(s)

No rising edges of the traction control system PWM signals are received for 3 seconds.

Action Taken

1. 'TRACTION DISABLED' message displayed on the DIC.
2. PCM disables first gear starts.
3. Transaxle shift adapts are maintained at current levels.

Notes on Fault Tree

1. Checking for a traction control communication code also set because that determines if it is just a PCM problem or not.
2. Checking for proper output voltage form PCM.
3. Checking CKT 1714 for an open.
4. Checking CKT 1714 for a short to ground.
5. Checking CKT 1714 for a short to voltage.
6. Checking for intermittent traction control problem. If not, trouble is in PCM or EBTCM.
