"Stop Engine - Engine Overheated" Message
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The IPC provides system voltage to the engine metal temp circuit, and the engine metal temp switch provides the signal path to ground. The IPC supplies and internally monitors the voltage level of the circuit at pin 'D10'. When the engine metal temp switch closes (an overheated engine metal condition present), the IPC will detect low voltage. If this condition exists for at least 2 seconds, the IPC will display the 'STOP ENGINE - ENGINE OVERHEATED' message. This message will be accompanied by a warning chime.
TEST CONDITION(S)
1. Ignition 3 and Ignition 1 voltage are present.
FAILURE CONDITION(S)
1. Engine Metal Temp switch is closed for 2 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN
1. Display the 'STOP ENGINE - ENGINE OVERHEATED' message on the DIC.
2. Warning chime sounds.
3. Light 'TEMP' telltale (Export Only).
