Ashtray Service Part Numbers:
Included below and in Figure 1 is a summary of GMSPO service part numbers for the ashtray assembly and component parts. Please note the following items:
^ Console trim plates are serviced as complete assemblies by color (vinyl trim plates) and in wood grain (zebrano and mahogany). Trim plate assemblies include all ash-tray components including cigar lighter components, electrical harness, and connectors.

Ashtray Replacement Procedure:
Should front console ashtray replacement become necessary, use the following procedure. This procedure will be included in an upcoming revision of the 1993 Eldorado/Seville Service Information Manual.
1. Remove radio trim plate. Refer to Figure 1.
2. Turn ignition to "OFF" position and move shift lever to "REVERSE". Remove console trim plate by disengaging five clips. Position trim plate to gain access to ashtray harness connector.
3. Disconnect ashtray harness and remove trim plate from car.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove shift handle from shifter assembly to remove trim plate from vehicle.
4. Remove ashtray housing from trim plate by removing four screws. Refer to Figure 2.
5. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver or knife carefully pry the tray door trim from the ashtray housing assembly. The ashtray door trim is located on the housing by tabs and is held in position by RTV silicone adhesive.
6. Remove excess old RTV silicone adhesive from the back of the ashtray door trim with a sharp knife or razor blade
7. Apply a thick bead of GM RTV silicone adhesive, P/N 1052751, to the back of ashtray door trim. Adhesive bead must be at least 32 mm (1-1/4 inch) in diameter. Install trim on ashtray assembly and secure with tape. Be sure ashtray-door trim is properly aligned.
8. Allow adhesive to cure at least 12 hours before installing ashtray on console trim plate.
9. After adhesive has cured, install ashtray assembly on the console trim plate.
10. Install console trim plate in vehicle.
