Seats - Poor Cushion Appearance, Replacement

SEAT CUSHION APPEARANCE (REPLACE FOAM SEAT CUSHION AND SEAT CUSHION COVER)

MODELS:
1992 CADILLAC ELDORADOS AND SEVILLES
1993 CADILLAC ELDORADOS (BEFORE VIN 603459)
1993 CADILLAC SEVILLES (BEFORE VIN 806476)

THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO CORRECT PART NUMBERS. PLEASE DISCARD BULLETIN 211617.

CONDITION:





Some 1992 and 1993 Eldorados and Sevilles may experience a condition where the customer is not satisfied with the appearance of the seat cushion area. Conditions identified may include the following:
(Refer to Figure 1.)

1. Carpet showing between seat cover and seat back.

2. Overall bagginess of cushion area.

3. A collapsed condition of the outboard seat cushion bolster.

CAUSE:
Perimeter boarder wire around seat bottom cushion wears into foam cushion causing the bolster to collapse.

CORRECTION:
To repair this condition replace both the foam seat cushion and seat cushion cover:

For repair procedure refer to Section 10-10 of the 1992 or 1993 Eldorado and Seville Service Information Manual. An additional step to hog-ring the seat cushion cover to the foam must be performed using hog-rings P/N 04876466 (4 per seat cover). (See Figure 2.)

Note:
To maintain consistency of appearance, both driver side and passenger side foam and seat covers should be replaced at the same time. Once both seats have new replacement parts, future components can be replaced individually.
