Throttle Body Assembly Removal and Replacement



Throttle Body Assembly - Exploded View:

NOTE: An eight digit identification number is stamped on the throttle body casting, see illustration. Refer to this number if servicing or part replacement is required.

REMOVAL:

1. Remove the air inlet duct.
2. Disconnect the vacuum lines. Note the position of each line.
3. Remove the three throttle body retaining bolts.
4. Disconnect the throttle, TV and cruise control cables.
5. Disconnect the ISC and TPS electrical connectors.
6. Remove the throttle body and gasket from the intake manifold. Discard the gasket.
7. Clean the gasket surface on the intake manifold and throttle body assembly.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new flange gasket and the throttle body assembly.
2. Connect the ISC and TPS electrical connectors.
3. Connect the throttle, TV and cruise control cables.
4. Install the three throttle body attaching bolts, tighten to 19 N-m (14 lb. ft.).
5. Connect the vacuum lines.
6. Install the air inlet duct.
