Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

"SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" MESSAGE DISPLAYED (NO CODES SET)









DESCRIPTION:

If the RSS Module loses any of the following inputs, a "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" message will be displayed, but no codes will be set:

^ Battery feed

^ Ignition feed

^ System round

^ Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) (will set code I039)

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. Refer to notes on intermittents. To diagnose this condition:

Enter output cycling
Manipulate affected wiring
Recheck for codes.

2. If Speed-Sensitive Suspension (SSS) solenoid (pin C16, circuit 1738) is shorted to ground, ignition fuse to RSS module will blow and no codes will be set.

3. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Diagnosis.

WHEN ALL DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE, CLEAR CODES AND VERIFY OPERATION.
