Insufficient Heating

Insufficient Heat

Check duct work for proper installation. Check the blower operation. Check for coolant flow through the heater core as follows:

1. Check coolant level.
2. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
3. Set climate control temperature to 32°C (90°F).
4. Set blower speed to "HI".
5. Select any mode except "OFF".
6. Place hands close to lower heater hose.

CAUTION: Do not touch heater hose. Heater hose may be extremely hot and could cause personal injury.

7. Place both hands close to the upper heater hose. It should be cooler.

If both hoses are hot and nearly the same temperature, check for restrictions in the heater core and related hoses or pipes. Refer to "INSUFFICIENT OR NO HEAT", and to "CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK" in "ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROL",(ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROL). If neither hose is warm, refer to "ENGINE COOLING".
