MODELS:
1994 CADILLAC CONCOURS, DEVILLE, ELDORADO AND SEVILLE
Condition:
Some owners may experience difficulty in achieving full hood closure.
Cause:
The primary latch assembly relatches due to forkbolt rebound against the detent lever during actuation of cable release. The hood is now in the open position and the latch is closed. When attempting to close the hood, the striker bounces off the top of the forkbolt. The secondary latch will still hold the hood safely down, but the hood does not align with the fenders.
Correction:
Replace the primary latch with P/N 16627673. Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
