Condition (Figure 1)

Some owners of the subject vehicles with Hydra-Matic 4T80-E transaxles built March 7 through March 9, 1994 (Julian Dates 066-068) may comment on a no fourth gear condition.





Cause (Figure 2)

This condition is due to a thin wall in the transaxle case fourth clutch servo bore area. Suspected Case die # 12A with 4, 5, 6 or 7 dots.

Correction

Replace with a new Goodwrench Transmission (SRTA) unit.
