Center Pillar Trim Panel and Retainers - Loose Fitting

LOOSE FITTING CENTER PILLAR TRIM PANEL AND PLASTIC PUSH-IN RETAINERS

MODELS:
1994 BUICK LESABRE AND PARK AVENUE
1994 CADILLAC CONCOURS AND DEVILLE
1994 OLDSMOBILE EIGHTY EIGHT AND NINETY EIGHT 1994 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE

When the center pillar trim panel is removed and replaced, it may not fit tightly against the center pillar, resulting in poor appearance.

The plastic push-in retainers attached to the trim panel become distorted when they are removed.

Upon removal of the center pillar trim panel, remove and replace all plastic push-in retainers attached to the trim panel.

Refer to the appropriate service manual for center pillar trim panel removal.

Replace retainers as follows:

Concours/DeVille -
Replace three retainers (per trim panel). Rotate retainers one quarter turn and remove from trim panel. Install new retainers, P/N 12065361.


All other models -
Replace two retainers (per trim panel). Remove retainer from trim panel by twisting counter clockwise while pulling outward on the retainer. Install new retainers, P/N 20451401, by twisting them clockwise into trim panel.





NOTE:
The original equipment retainers are black in color while the replacement retainers, P/N 20451401, are white In color. (Does not apply to Concours and DeVille).
