General Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The climate control system automatically regulates and maintains the inside air temperatures from 65°F/18°C to 85°F/29°C regardless of the changes in the outside air temperature. Settings of 60°F/16°C (max cool) and 90°F/32°C (max heat) provide unregulated heating and cooling.
The Climate Control Center (CCC) is used for selecting an in-car comfort level. The other main components that comprise the climate control system are the Air Conditioning Programmer (ACP), PCM, Temperature Sensors, HVAC Module, and the refrigeration system.
The climate control system is most easily understood if it is divided into four categories. These are:
1. General Operation.
2. Air Delivery System.
3. Refrigeration System.
4. Temperature Control System.
In order to fully understand the climate control system, you should first have a thorough understanding of the air delivery and refrigeration system. If necessary, review operation of these systems.
