LATERAL ACCELERATION SWITCH

REPLACE
1. Remove gear selector retaining clip and handle.
2. Remove two center console storage compartment assembly retaining screws, then the storage compartment from the center console.
3. Remove ashtray, then disconnect cigarette lighter electrical connector.
4. Remove ashtray housing assembly retaining screw, then the ashtray housing from the center console.
5. Remove five upper console retaining screws.
6. Remove upper console illumination bulbs and sockets, then the upper console assembly from lower console.
7. Remove lower console to bracket retaining screw and nuts.
8. Remove two console to instrument panel screws.
9. Remove support rod, then the lower console.
10. Cut carpet back approximately two inches to gain access to switch, Fig. 18.
11. Disconnect switch electrical connector.
12. Remove switch retaining screws, then the switch from frame rail.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
