Trunk Lid/Tailgate Release
The Trunk Lid Release system consists of: Trunk Lid Release Solenoid, Trunk Lid Release Switch, Valet Switch, Trunk Lid Release Relay "C", Park/Neutral Position Switch, Trunk/Fuel Door Release Inhibit Relay "E" and associated harness wiring. When the Valet Switch is in the "ON" position, the Ignition switch is in RUN, BULB TEST or START and the transaxle is in PARK, pressing the Trunk Lid Release Switch will ground the Trunk Lid Release Relay "C" coil. Battery voltage from Engine Compartment Fuse Block Fuse "A3" energizes relay "C" and the RH MAXI(R) Fuse Block Circuit Breaker 1 applies battery voltage to the Trunk Lid Release Solenoid. The solenoid energizes and the Trunk Lid latch assembly releases the Trunk Lid.
The Trunk/Fuel Door Release Inhibit Relay "E" and the Park/Neutral Position Switch disable Trunk Lid Release operation whenever the Ignition switch is in RUN, BULB TEST, START and the transaxle is not in PARK.
When the Valet Switch is in the "ON" position and the RAP relay is energized, pressing the Trunk Lid Release Switch will ground the Trunk Lid Release Relay "C" coil. Battery voltage from RH MAXI(R) Fuse Block Circuit Breaker 1 energizes relay "C" and applies battery voltage to the Trunk Lid Release Solenoid. The solenoid energizes and the Trunk Lid latch assembly releases the Trunk Lid.
