1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove air cleaner.
4. Remove drive belt.
5. Remove alternator and position aside.
6. Remove A/C accumulator from bracket and position aside.
7. Remove idler pulley, water pump pulley and water pump.
8. Raise and support vehicle.
9. Remove crankshaft puller and hub.
10. Remove cover attaching bolts, then the cover.
11. Reverse procedure to install. When installing, place a bead of RTV sealer on front cover lip on oil pan sealing surface and a 1/4 inch bead of RTV sealer on the oil pan where the oil pan, cylinder block and cover join together, Fig. 6. The 1/4 inch bead is needed because the cover has a rounded corner instead of a square corner. If extra RTV is not applied an oil leak may occur.
