Trunk Lid Pull-Down

When the trunk lid is unlatched, the Trunk Lid Latch Switch moves to the "UNLATCHED" position and the Trunk Lid Ajar Switch moves to the "LID AJAR" position. Since the striker switches are in position 1, the Fuse "D7" provides battery voltage to the striker motor through striker switch B. The striker motor runs, since the motor is grounded through striker switch C and the Trunk Lid Ajar Switch. The striker motor drives the striker up until the striker switches are moved to position 2. The striker motor will stop running, since the motor is no longer grounded through striker switch C.

In the "UNLATCHED" position the Trunk Lid Latch Switch provides a ground path for the trunk lamp, "trunk open wake-up" input to the RSS Module and the "PC trunk open input. The trunk lamp lights, the RSS Module "wakes up" to allow the Electronic Level Control (ELC) to operate and the IPC displays the message "TRUNK OPEN" on the Driver Information Center.

The striker motor drives the striker down until the striker switches are moved to position 1. The striker motor will stop running, since the motor is no longer grounded through striker switch A. When the trunk lid is in the fully closed position the Trunk Lid Ajar Switch moves to the "LID CLOSED" position.
