Throttle Body: Description and Operation
Throttle Body:
THROTTLE BODY
The throttle body contains a single throttle valve which controls the amount of air delivered to the engine. The throttle body contains two ports located above the throttle valve. These two ports provide vacuum to the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) system solenoid, cruise control servo and air conditioning system. A coolant passage under the throttle valve heats the throttle body and reduces the potential for deposit buildup in throttle body.
THROTTLE BODY COMPONENTS
The Throttle Position (TP) sensor, Idle Speed Control (ISC) actuator and bracket and cruise control servo and bracket are mounted on the throttle body. The TP sensor and minimum air stop are not adjustable.
