Lower Control Valve Assembly& Channel Plate

LOWER CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY& CHANNEL PLATE 4T80-E TRANSAXLE

REMOVAL








1. Remove 10 mm bolt from channel plate side and six 10 mm bolts from transaxle pressure switch. Remove pressure switch.
2. Remove remaining 10 mm bolts attaching lower control valve body to channel plate.
3. Remove lower control valve assembly from channel plate, then four check balls.
4. Remove three 8 mm bolts from spacer plate support cover, then cover.
5. Remove spacer plate and gasket assembly.
6. Remove manual valve link and clip, then manual valve.
7. Remove b/reverse servo piston retaining ring, then push b/reverse apply pin to remove servo assembly.
8. Remove return spring, clip, then push out servo pin.
9. Remove servo cushion spring, sleeve and spring washer.
10. Remove clips and shift solenoids A and B, then solenoid screen. Check valves for movement before removing screen.
11. Remove 1/2 shift valves A and B, then 1/2 shift valve spring.
12. Remove 2/3 shift valves C and D, then 2/3 shift valve spring.
13. Remove coiled spring pin.
14. Remove forward orifice bypass valve spring, then orifice bypass valve.
15. Remove retaining clip to 3/4 shift valve.
16. Remove bore plug, 3/4 shift valve, then 3/4 shift valve spring.
17. Remove coiled spring pin.
18. Remove reverse orifice bypass valve spring, then orifice bypass valve.
19. Remove retaining sleeve.
20. Remove ball check capsule and checkball.

INSPECTION
1. Inspect spacer plate/gasket. Replace if gasket is damaged.
2. Inspect servo seals for rollover, tearing or cuts. Remove and replace with new seals.
3. Inspect springs for damage and retaining clips for overexpansion.
4. Inspect all valve and piston bores for nicks, scratches or wear.
5. Inspect b/reverse servo apply pin for straightness by rolling on a flat surface.
6. Inspect solenoid screen for particles and/or damage.
7. Inspect checkball in valve body for freedom of movement.
8. Inspect valve body and channel plate passages for debris.

INSTALLATION
1. Install ball check capsule and check- ball.
2. Install retaining sleeve.
3. Install reverse orifice bypass valve and valve spring.
4. Install coiled spring pin.
5. Install 3/4 shift valve spring, then valve.
6. Install bore plug, then retaining clip.
7. Install forward orifice bypass valve and valve spring.
8. Install coiled spring pin and new solenoid screen.
9. Install 2/3 shift valve spring, then 2/3 shift valves C and D.
10. Install 1/2 shift valve spring, then 1/2 shift valves A and B.
11. Install shift solenoids A and B and clips.
12. Install washer and sleeve on servo pin.
13. Install servo cushion spring in servo piston, then servo pin in piston.
14. Install retaining ring on servo pin, then return spring in servo bore.
15. install piston (with new seals) and pin assembly into servo bore.
16. Install retaining ring, then push piston to move pin through bore.
17. Install manual valve link and clip, then manual valve.
