Fuel Door: Description and Operation
Circuit Operation
The fuel Door Release system consists of: the Fuel Door Release Solenoid, Fuel Door Release Switch, Fuel Door Release Relay "B", Park/Neutral Position Switch, Trunk/Fuel Door Release Inhibit Relay "E" and associated harness wiring.
If the ignition switch is in RUN, BULB TEST or START and the transaxle is in PARK, the Fuel Door Release Switch when pressed will ground the Fuel Door Release Relay "B" coil. Relay "B" energizes and the LH MAXI Fuse Block Circuit Breaker #3 provides battery voltage to the Fuel Door Release Solenoid. The solenoid energizes, pulling in the latch and the spring loaded fuel door is released.
The Trunk/Fuel Door Release Inhibit Relay "E" and the Park/Neutral Position Switch disable Fuel Door Release operation whenever the ignition switch is in RUN, BULB TEST, START and the transaxle is not in PARK.
When the RAP relay is energized, the Fuel Door Release Switch when pressed will ground the Fuel Door Release Relay "B" coil. Relay "B" energizes and the LH MAXI Fuse Block Circuit Breaker #3 provides battery voltage to the Fuel Door Release Solenoid. The solenoid energizes, the latch pulls in and the spring loaded fuel filler door is released.
