Wiper Activated Headlamps

The Wiper Activated Headlamps function allows the headlamps and park lamps to be activated by the Windshield Wiper Switch. In order for this to occur the Ignition Switch must be turned to the ON position, the Twilight Sentinel must be enabled and the Windshield Wiper Switch must be activated for approximately 23 seconds

When the Windshield Wiper Switch is activated for approximately 23 seconds, the Twilight Sentinel/DRL Module receives a signal at terminal (6A) through CKT 91. The Twilight Sentinel/DRL Module then grounds its headlamp control terminal (3B) and park lamp control terminal (1B) causing the headlamps and park lamps to light.

The Wiper Activated Headlamps function can be disabled by either turning the Windshield Wiper Switch OFF, the Twilight Sentinel OFF or by turning the Ignition Switch to the OFF position. If any one of these conditions occur, the Wiper Activated Headlamps function will be disabled. However, if the Windshield Wiper Switch is turned OFF and then back ON within 1.8 seconds, the Wiper Activated Headlamps function will remain in the ON state.
