Primary and Secondary Ignition Inspection

1. Inspect spark plugs and wires:
^ Cracked plug insulators.
^ Plug wire boot for flash over burns.
^ Plug wire terminal at plug.
^ Wires for burns, pinch cuts and chaffing.
^ All looms and retainers.

2. Inspect distributor cap:
^ Ignition wire boot at cap.
^ Punch Through at coil counting screw.
^ Rotor contact button and insulator.
^ Coil ground at coil frame.
^ Wrong coil.

3. Inspect coil primary wiring:
^ Harness from coil to module.
^ Ground screw at condenser.
^ Harness and connector from PCM.
^ Ground screw at harness connector block.
^ Connectors at ICM.
^ Pick-up coil leads, pole piece and magnet.
