Labor Time Guide Format Change
Models:
1994-95 Passenger Cars and Light Duty Trucks
Attention: Service Manager and Claims Administrator
The purpose of this bulletin is to advise retail and wholesale service personnel of a change in labor time guide (LTG) format. This change will be effective with the April 18,1995 release of the LTG. This format change will make the LTG easier to use and was developed with dealer/retailer input. This change will also accommodate the new WINS concept of a common claims processing environment.
This format change reflects GM's commitment to provide common information and systems to its dealers/retailers. The platform LTG approach is consistent with the recently implemented platform service manual and common service bulletins.
Each car and truck platform will have its own LTG microfiche/book. The initial platform LTG's will contain two (2) model years of data. The new LTG will contain labor time data for the 1994 and 1995 model years. An additional column will be added to the LTG each year. When 1996 vehicles are introduced, the LTG will contain 1994, 1995 and 1996 labor time data for the respective platform. Eventually each LTG will contain five (5) years of data for the platform.
The platform LTG will contain labor time data for each division that markets the respective platform. For example, the B car platform LTG will contain labor time data for the Chevrolet Caprice and Buick Roadmaster, the N car platform LTG will contain data for the Pontiac Grand-Am Oldsmobile Achieva and Buick Skylark.
In addition, changes to past model labor times will be provided for model years 1988 through 1993. These time changes will appear at the end of the LTG prior to the alphabetic index of the respective platform.
Electronic LTG providers such as ADP and Bell & Howell have been advised of this format change and will be adjusting their system as necessary.
The figures are examples of pages from the B car platform LTG.
