NO.: 95-C-08DATE: October, 1994
GROUP: 7
SUBJECT:
TRANSAXLE IMPROPERLY STAMPED SECOND CLUTCH REACTION (STEEL) PLATES
MODEL:
CERTAIN 1995 DEVILLES WITH 4T60-E TRANSAXLE (RPOM 13)
CONDITION
General Motors has determined that certain 1995 model DeVilles with the HYDRAMATIC 4T60-E transaxle may have been built with second clutch reaction (steel) plates that were improperly manufactured. This condition could result in premature wear of the second clutch assembly at low mileage and may cause the transaxle to lose second gear and eventually become inoperative.
DEALER ACTION
To correct this condition, dealers are to replace the suspect transaxle with a new transaxle.
