Cruise Control: Adjustments

The cruise control system utilizes a lash learn system to compensate for any minor slack in the servo linkage due to tolerance stack-up or build error. The lash learn term is generally calculated when the PCM receives a cruise set command and the throttle is fully relaxed. The PCM calculates the servo position movement to offset the throttle position movement. The PCM uses this value to subsequent servo position commands.

To perform lash learn, perform the following procedure:
1. Drive vehicle to approximately 50 mph.
2. Take foot off accelerator for three seconds.
3. Engage cruise Set/Coast button.
