1. Raise and support vehicle on frame contact type hoist, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. If left control arm is to be replaced, disconnect ELC height sensor link.
3. Remove stabilizer shaft mounting bolt from strut, if equipped.
4. Reinstall two wheel nuts to retain brake rotor, then remove brake caliper as outlined and secure aside leaving hoses connected.
5. Loosen, but do not remove, knuckle pivot bolt at outboard end of control arm.
6. Support outboard end of control arm with a proper jackstand.
7. Remove upper strut rod cap, mounting nut and insulator, Fig. 2.
8. Slowly remove jackstand to relieve spring pressure.
9. Compress strut by hand and remove lower insulator.
10. Remove wheel speed sensor from knuckle if equipped with anti-lock brakes.
11. Support knuckle assembly, remove knuckle pivot bolt, then remove strut, knuckle, hub, bearing and rotor as an assembly.
12. Remove both inner control arm bolts, then the control arm, Fig. 5.
13. Reverse procedure to install, ensure strut is fully seated with tang on strut bottomed in steering knuckle slot. When suspension is fully assembled, tighten bolts to specifications.
