PCM - Intermittent Service Ride Control Message/DTC 44
File in Section: 3 - Steering/SuspensionBulletin No. 53-33-03
Date: September, 1995
Subject:
Intermittent "Service Ride Control" Message (RSS DTC 44) Set or ETC/STS Harsh Ride Concern (Recalibrate)
Models:
1994-95 Cadillac Eldorado, Seville
1995 Cadillac Concours
Condition
A. Some owners may comment on an intermittent "Service Ride Control" message. An RSS DTC 44 (Lift/Dive Fault) may be set. No fault will be found when diagnosing the system as it is a software error that occurs at power-up when the PCM and RSS module perform a communication routine.
B. Some owners of an ETC or STS model may comment on a harsh ride. Recalibration of an ETC as an ELD or an STS as an SLS may correct the concern.
Instructions:
Follow Tech 1 prompts to choose either -
a. An "ETC" or "ELD" calibration for an ETC,
or
b. An "STS" or "SLS" calibration for an STS
Correction
In August, 1995, a new version of the Tech 1 CD is being released which contains revised software for the 1994-95 Road Sensing Suspension (RSS) Systems. Any vehicle listed below with either of the above concerns should be recalibrated per the new EEPROM ID.
Important:
The August, 1995 Tech 1 CD will display "GM 94-96 Chassis V1.2" when the chassis option is chosen.
