CONDITION
Some owners may comment that engine will crank but won't start - no fuel pressure.
CAUSE
A bent or damaged terminal in cavity "C" of the jumper harness from the main body harness to the modular fuel sender could produce a high resistance circuit. This may lead to an intermittent open in the modular fuel sender ground circuit.
CORRECTION
Perform visual inspection of the sender cover to verify that no damage has occurred to the cover. When the above symptom is present, verify the condition by checking the fuel system pressure loss. Refer to diagnostics in Section 6C of the appropriate Service Manual.
If diagnosis indicates fuel pressure loss, a possible cause is damage to the modular fuel level sender wiring or damage to the jumper harness terminal. If the sender pass-through connector shows signs of damage, replace the jumper harness as well as the modular fuel sender.
