Bottom Pan & Gasket Replace

BOTTOM PAN & GASKET 4T80-E TRANSAXLE
1. Raise and support vehicle, then loosen bottom pan bolts to drain fluid in pan.
2. Remove pan bolts, pan and gasket.
3. Inspect pan and bolts for damage. Repair or replace as necessary.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Bottom pan and case sealing surfaces must be clean and dry for new gasket to seal properly.
b. Pan bolts must be dry and bolt holes free of residual fluid.
c. Install pan bolts finger tight to secure, then torque pan bolts in three steps: 27 inch lbs., 53 inch lbs., then 106 inch lbs.
d. Add approximately 4 qts. of fluid.
e. With vehicle in Park, parking brake engaged and engine at idle speed and at operating temperature, move shift lever through all ranges, then back into Park. Check fluid level, adding as necessary.
