1. Remove left and right molding assemblies.
2. Remove windshield washer nozzle grille from upper trim pad assembly as follows:
a. Pry upward to unseat spring clips.
b. Remove sunload sensor and light sensor assembly (photocell) from grille assembly by rotating counterclockwise.
3. Remove upper trim pad assembly, then left and right sound insulators.
4. Remove steering column opening filler assembly and knee bolster assembly.
5. Remove tilt wheel lever assembly and transmission shift indicator cable.
6. Remove cluster trim plate assembly, instrument cluster assembly and trim plate assembly, Fig. 18.
7. Remove heater and air conditioning control assembly, then radio assembly.
8. Disconnect and remove passenger inflator module as follows:
a. Disconnect connector position assurance (CPA) and electrical connector.
b. Disconnect fasteners from passenger inflator module.
c. Remove passenger inflator module from vehicle.
9. Remove inside air temperature sensor assembly and duct.
10. Remove ashtray assembly.
11. Remove floor carpet retainer assemblies.
12. Remove instrument panel compartment, lamp and switch assemblies.
13. Remove rear compartment lid release switch assembly, then headlight switch assembly.
14. Remove steering column bracket nuts and lower steering column assembly.
15. Remove data link connector (DLC), Fig. 19.
16. Remove oil level module and coolant level sensor.
17. Remove instrument panel screws and nuts and lower tie bar bolt and screw.
18. Remove center lower brace bolt and screw attaching center lower brace to instrument panel assembly. Remove center lower brace and nut if necessary.
19. Remove instrument panel wiring harness assembly as follows:
a. Disconnect harness assembly clips.
b. Note harness assembly routing before removal.
20. Remove instrument panel, Fig. 20. Replace instrument panel nuts if necessary.
