Distributor Ventilation System:

DISTRIBUTOR VENTILATION SYSTEM

NOTE: Numbers included in this article refer to caption numbers in the accompanying image.

The ventilation system vacuum harness (24), connected to the air intake duct (25), the distributor (1) and the air intake manifold (26), provides ventilation to the distributor (1), thus preventing moisture build-up and possible ignition system failure. A check valve at the air intake duct connection insures one-way flow through the distributor (1) to the air intake manifold (26). Refer to image for correct orientation. The ventilation system vacuum harness (24) connects to the air intake duct (25) and the air intake manifold (26) with vacuum fittings. It attaches to the distributor (1) at two places with separately sized connectors.

CAUTION: Failure to connect all hoses of the ventilation system will eventually result in distributor failure.
