Idle Learn Procedure

TP SENSOR IDLE LEARN
If the Throttle Position (TP) sensor or throttle body is replaced, the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) must "learn" the TP sensor idle position voltage with the new component(s) installed. This is necessary to ensure effective engine torque reduction during Traction Control System (TCS) events. The procedure requires a Tech 1 scan tool or T-1OO (CAMS) unit, and will be described using a Tech 1 scan tool.

TECH 1 SCAN TOOL PROCEDURE
1. Ignition "OFF."
2. Connect Tech 1 with Mass Storage/Chassis cartridge.
3. Ignition "ON."
4. Follow menus to reach ABS/TCS features.
5. Select "F5: TP SENSR LRN."
6. Press the up arrow to begin learn procedure.
7. Wait for Tech 1 to indicate "COMPLETE."
8. Ignition "OFF."
9. Disconnect Tech 1.
